Wedding Makeup | Skincare

Most woman think that makeup will fix everything. Well, I’ve got news for you ladies. IT WON’T!!!! Every bride wants amazing flawless skin but this is something I Can’t do on my own as an artist. Skin needs daily attention and I know some of you will say I don’t have time and a thousand other excuses…I have more news for you ummmm yes you do. It only takes a few min’s of your day in the shower. I can’t express how important it is to cleanse, tone, moisturise and exfoliate on a daily basis. Below is a step by step guide on how to prepare your skin for your wedding day:

1) Gently wash your face. Our faces are exposed to external factors (wind, rain, sunshine etc) continuously and this results in the forming of dead dells on the surface of our skin.

Make sure you buy a non abrasive gentle wash, place a little product on your finger’s add warm water and gently massage into skin using circular movements.

Concentrate on rough areas like nose or chin. avoid eye area. Rinse product off with warm water, pat your face dry and be gentle.

2) Use a toner. After a face scrub it is important to use a toner. This will close pores freshen your skin and remove any remaining impurity. Use cotton to swipe your face with a toner. Avoid eye area. Do not rinse off the toner. It dries instantly.

3) Moisturize moisturize moisturize!!!! The all important step to healthy skin, I cannot emphasize this enough. Your skin needs hydration to keep it nouished and healthy. The difference is huge. TIP: Whichever moisturizer you choose make sure it has a built in SPF15 at least to block out damaging skin rays. Moisturizer should be applied morning before makeup and at night before going to bed.

This simple makeup essentials 3 step routine will keep your face looking fresh and healthy.

Ohhhhhh I almost forgot another tip. Make sure your drinking plenty of water. You’d be amazed at what water can do for you internally and externally.

Happy skincare ladies!!!!

Makeup | What Eyeshadow Colours to Use for Different Eye Colour’s

eyeshadows-colorWhen it comes to your wedding day every bride dreams of looking the best she possibly can. So one thing to always remember is that, you do want to look like yourself but a better version. On trend fashion colours will quickly go out of date. The last thing you want is to look back at your pictures and think “what was I thinking”

I personally love natural but flawless skin and neutral tones for eyes and hair colour, it’s timeless, elegant, classic and looks good with any shape or skin tone. It’s ok to introduce a hint of colour around the eyes but remember, the colour that’s in for this year will not be in years to come.

I like to keep with neutral toned eye shadows. Lots of yummy warm chocolates, peaches, browns, soft pinks. Very bridal but I know those colours work for most skin tones. I like to introduce colour in the eyeliner or a slight enhancer in a soft shadow in the outer corners of the eye for just an illusion of colour.

Here are the power shades to enhance and draw attention to your eye colour.

Brown eyes – Greens, champagnes, bronzes, golds, browns and blues. Also try peach, corals, copper, pink, pale purples and burnt oranges.
Blue eyes – brown/orange, taupe, grey, violet, purple, deep blue and silver. To emphasize blue eyes try brown and rose shadows.
Green eyes – Brown colours from light beige’s – deep chocolate browns. Light purples and pinks will compliment green eyes, but stay away from greens olives and silvers.
Hazel eyes – Browns, gold, pink and lavender. Plum, khaki and mocha. Purple makes eyes more dramatic and use soft pink for a more romantic look. Avoid – Blue, silver, grey and blue black.

Fair skin should always avoid anything orange or brassy as this will look very un-natural.

Mature eyes should always avoid anything with shimmer as this will enhance lines and age you more and we don’t want that!!!

If your skin is naturally pink or red avoid anything pink around the eyes as this will only make it worse.

To lighten up tired eyes you can apply some eye drops then apply a white eyeliner on the water rim of your eyes.

Consult a professional eyebrow shaper to have your face shape and eye shape taken into consideration.

Always use a great mascara to finish the look as this will enhance and open up the eye.
